Smart working, tele-working, agile working, home office... These are all terms which vary slightly in meaning but which also have a common denominator: work is carried out away from the traditional office working context. Today, this is the solution that many companies have adopted in order to manage the current emergency, how many of these will continue to favour it in the aftermath?

This depends to what extent they’ll be able to develop the right mindset: the Smart Mindset!

For many countries, smart working is a way of working that is less traditional. In recent years, however, it has become increasingly popular within companies, and with the arrival of Covid-19, it has become the only viable option to guarantee business continuity during the lockdown.

However, how many companies will favour this way of working even in the aftermath?

IThe extraordinary circumstances in which we find ourselves and which have facilitated the spread of remote working as the best option however, has meant that not everyone has properly prepared or developed the right mindset! In fact, for many, smart working represents a temporary solution in the hope that soon we can ‘go back to the way we were’. Instead, for others, it is viewed as more of a ‘I’m doing the same work as before but remotely. The result of this way of thinking? A disaster!

Smart working as a concept can still be redeemed however, going from a “trendy-temporary solution” to a “strategic management choice”. But there must be the smart mindset in those who adopt smart working!

The Smart Mindset is a set of skills that fall under the concept of Emotional Intelligence which allow you to determine to what extent a person is able to self-manage and to coordinate with their interlocutors (colleagues, managers, clients, etc) when remote working.

As this is a set of skills, only some of which we are born with, this means that they can be developed and improved through targeted training courses and/or coaching. However, before outlining an development plan, it is first essential to have the base from which to start... it is precisely to provide a clear picture of one’s Smart mindset that SMARTY was born: a tool which allows you to measure the Smart Mindset of your employees!

How does it work?

Smart Mindset Crisis Management ASAP Italia Come funziona

SMARTY is accessed through the ASAP Italia website with personal and exclusive login credentials.

The test consists of 60 questions and will take around 15 minutes to complete. It is aimed at evaluating:

  • A person’s tendency to take responsibility for their objectives and the ability to maintain their focus on them even when difficulties arise (Courage and Ownership)
  • The ability to relate to and coordinate with others, creating effective and efficient flows of communication (Coordination and Communication)
  • The ability to come up with plans of work for oneself and for others, to define priorities and to monitor that they are followed and respected. (Planning and Organisation)

Once the assessment has been completed, you will be provided a report, a snapshot of the person’s Smart mindset in general and in relation to the ‘market’, as well as ad hoc guide lines describing how to further develop their mental agility.

And you? Do you know if your employees have the Smart Mindset?

Should you wish, using our SMARTY tests, we can provide you with a starting point from which to then evaluate possible development plans together!
